When constructing the interior of an ordinary concrete basement room it is necessary to establish a moist and cool climate suitable for wine storage. This can be achieved naturally and without the use of high-energy air-conditioning units by using natural building materials and a controlled ventilation system.
The antique brick is our favourite because it is not only versatile as far as its properties are concerned, but also in its uses.
Every brick is unique. It gets its colour from the different constituents of the clay and is "finished by hand" while still moist. In this way every brick is given its personal character.
For experts it is one of the best building materials. Indestructible in its strength, the hand-made brick obtains a more and more beautiful patina over the years. Thanks to its excellent hygroscopic properties, it keeps the humidity in a room at a relatively constant high level. This very good storage ability minimises temperature fluctuations.
Trass is a porous natural stone. We use original roman trass from Italy, which is the best both in quality and looks. Thanks to the nature of the surface, sounds are absorbed and the climatic properties of the stone are outstanding.
The ambience produced by the straightforward Sandyline shelves and trass facing is modern.
Marsh lime plasters are 100% mineral without artificial additives. They are also completely odour-free and have an air-purifying effect. Since marsh lime plaster does not contain binders or artificial resin, you have to be skilled to use it properly. The Neuschwander teams has the experienced craftspeople with the necessary know-how.
Straight ceilings in existing rooms can be turned into arches using arch elements, room shapers and columns. The room then has a lighter air and from a practical point of view, air circulation, and therefore ventilation, is improved. Stucco elements and columns complement the roman style.
Natural stone such as sandstone, granite or marble is not only beautiful, but also very practical. Prefabricated tabletops and cornices are easy to realise and can be combined perfectly with clinker and brick. We naturally also offer sculpturally decorated natural stone. In your personal refuge, they are the "dot on the i".
Oiled oak wood is used for shelves, doors and furniture. It comes from our German forests and survives even continuously damp climatic conditions for years to come.
All woodwork is prefabricated completely according to our specifications by skilled carpenters and need only still be fitted on site.
