Construction
The barrel vault or cap vaulted cellars are prefabricated to measure in our factory and delivered as individual elements by our company trucks with cranes. The vault elements are then placed on the finished foundation slab and assembled. The time needed to construct a cellar of normal size is about three to four hours.
Thereafter work on pointing and installation of the PVC ventilation pipes begins. Sealing to protect against precipitation moisture and, if necessary, additional heat insulation round off construction of the shell.
Flooring with Neuschwander bricks keeps the climate in the vault natural and it is easy to keep clean.
For plastering of the raw brick, we recommend only so-called marsh lime. It supports the capillary action of the brick in creating the optimum humidity in the vault and also has an antiseptic effect on the microclimate.
Our team of Neuschwander craftspeople will gladly stand by you for further interior finishing and design with ARCarea.
