Vineyard “Trockene Schmitts” in Randersacker near Würzburg
ARCarea interior finish in the stairway - an extraordinary project for extraordinary wines
The idea was unusual - the result amazing. Now we also have stunning views and insights, arousing our desire to discover. The stairway leading from the entrance area down two stories to the wine cellar was a gloomy matter on guided tours of the estate. Bruno Schmitt of the vineyard Trockene Schmitts came to us with the idea of turning it into a treasure chamber, and we quickly developed detailed plans. Our craftspeople carried out the conversion work on site quickly. The very old, valuable and rare wines are now accommodated befittingly in environs that are a feast for the eyes of every visitor. The handcrafted shelves wind their way down along the stairway to its contorted niche. Broken up by natural stone cornices and vaulted passages, a fascinating ensemble of building and wine culture has been produced, inviting the visitor to linger, discover and marvel. Meanwhile there is time to impart knowledge and tell anecdotes on the vintner's own wines. Which wine enthusiast does not appreciate such tours to the heart of a vineyard?
