Nicolas Bonnet, vintner of Domaine de la Comtesse Eldegarde in the Swiss village of Satigny in the canton of Geneva decided in 2003 to buy an Neuschwander vault cellar to store barrels of wine.
The lighting is very noble and lets the barrels merge visually with the vault into a harmonious unit.
Noble, too, are the wines that come from this birthplace. They are pressed very carefully and sulphurised extremely sparingly. They harbour much potential as they are marketed directly to their buyers.
The brick vault for the aging of wines from a vine area of 3 ha measures 3.5 by 20 m.
Overall the vineyard has a vine area of 17 ha, but most of the wine is delivered to the local cooperative.
