Vineyard Am Amthof in Abenheim
Vineyard With New Salesroom
For the vintners Ilka and Gerd Cleres, who run the vineyard Am Amthof in Abenheim near Worms in the fifth generation, 2007 was a year marked by renewal. They wanted to rearrange their residence, office and salesroom with festive hall. Of special importance to them was that the new rooms reflect and underline the openheartedness and hospitality of the Cleres family so that customers and guests alike would feel at home and gladly come back.
The work plans for the salesroom and festive hall were prepared by our project manager Mr Daniel. Vault construction, lighting and acoustics were planed and executed down to the last detail, resulting in a functional room that fully meets the practical needs for wine selling and festive activities. Parties of up to 100 people now find an elegant and spacious room under four roman cross vaults with matching lighting and sound equipment. The brick and natural stone brickwork was combined with prefabricated components and finished in just five weeks. Brick pillars and columns of Rosso Verona designed artistically by the sculptor Ralf Nieling with sandstone capitals support the 5 m-wide brick flanges and the lightweight domes of the cross vaults. The intention was to show the close link between the vineyard, nature, wine, craftsmanship and art as an expression of elegance and lifestyle. A highlight is the replica of the Witigowo column from the cathedral Marienmünster Mittelzell on the island of Reichenau (blessed by the abbot Heitos I in 816 AD) in the centre of the room.
