The Cupola Vault

Conversion of a Barn at Vineyard Birkert, Bretzfeld Adolzfurt
Spacious premises of 150 m² for the presentation, sale and tasting of wine were created from a storage room in a timber-framed barn. The highlight is the handcrafted cupola vault made from 2,500 bricks. It rests on a tambour of sandstone, decorated with sculpturing work, and arches over a square room measuring 5 x 5 metres in size. Under it wine tastings will in future be celebrated in stylish atmosphere at a wide round table. The entrance and sales area were constructed throughout with the prefabricated brick system ARCasa. Handcrafted arches offer space for presentation niches. Backlighting places the spotlight elegantly on the wines. Recesses for loudspeakers were already provided in the shell so that they could be mounted flush in the wall.
